Best red natural wines at Systembolaget 2026

An independent shortlist of red natural wines at Systembolaget — Occhipinti, La Baronne, Henriot and Colombaia.

Why this list exists

Most lists of natural wines at Systembolaget are made by importers, shops or sites that profit from what you buy. We don't — PACT imports directly from producers in Languedoc and is not sold at Systembolaget.

This list uses the same methodology as our list of the world's 100 best natural wine producers: general consensus within the natural wine world, verified producer background and documented winemaking practice. No conflict of interest, no affiliate links.

Updated quarterly. Last updated: August 2026.

The criteria

To appear on this list a wine must have:

Organic or biodynamic farming — not just a claim but certification or verifiable practice.

Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts — no added commercial yeast.

Minimal or no added sulphur — we draw the line at around 30 mg/l added. Natural sulphur from fermentation is not counted.

A producer with a recognised reputation in the natural wine world — not just an organic certificate. Large anonymous producers launching a "natural wine" line are disqualified regardless of certification.

Marcel Lapierre — Morgon Marcel Lapierre

329 kr · Tillfälligt sortiment · Gamay · Bourgogne, Frankrike

The wine that became the template for natural Beaujolais. Lapierre took Jules Chauvet's ideas about fermentation without additives and put them into practice in the 1980s — his Morgon is the reference hundreds of producers have tried to copy since. His son Mathieu has run the domaine since Marcel's death in 2010, without compromise.

Azienda Agricola Frank Cornelissen — Susucaru Rosso

270 kr · Tillfälligt sortiment · Sicilien, Italien

Cornelissen is the Belgian who moved to Etna's northern slope and pushes minimal intervention further than almost anyone. Susucaru is his most approachable wine — light, juicy and immediate, from old vines high on the volcano. A good entry point to a producer whose top cuvées divide opinion.

Arianna Occhipinti — Siccagno Arianna Occhipinti

361 kr · Tillfälligt sortiment · Nero d'avola · Sicilien, Italien

Occhipinti is one of Italy's most important natural wine voices — her uncle founded the legendary COS in Vittoria. Siccagno is pure Nero d'Avola from limestone soils in Sicily, hand-harvested and vinified without additives. A wine that shows Sicilian red can be taut and mineral rather than warm and jammy.

Radikon — Radikon RS21

389 kr · Ordervaror · Merlot, Pignolo · Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, Italien

Radikon is known for orange wine, but RS21 shows the same philosophy applied to red. The family in Oslavje returned in 1995 to the grandfather's method — long skin contact, no temperature control, no added sulphur. Saša Radikon has run the domaine since his father's death in 2016.

Weingut Pranzegg — Pranzegg Rosso per tutti

299 kr · Ordervaror · Italien

Martin Gojer makes wine in South Tyrol from old Vernatsch vines on steep volcanic sites. Rosso per tutti is exactly what the name says — a red for everyone. Light, fresh and low in alcohol, with the saline minerality that porphyry and quartz give. One of few natural wines that works as well chilled as at room temperature.

Meinklang — Meinklang Pinot Noir

129 kr · Fast sortiment · Pinot noir · Österrike

The Michlits family runs Meinklang as a biodynamic farm where wine is part of a larger cycle with livestock and grain. The Pinot Noir is light, transparent and juicy — far from Burgundy's ambitions but honestly made and 129 kronor in the permanent assortment. The cheapest wine on this list and the only one always in stock.

What we don't list — and why

Systembolaget's natural wine assortment also includes wines from producers we cannot recommend with the same conviction. One thing to watch for:

Large S.p.A. producers with a "natural wine" segment are rarely what they claim to be. When a company with industrial production launches a natural wine line to ride the trend, ask why they are doing it — and whether the philosophy actually runs through the work in the vineyard.

We do not name individual wines in this section, but the advice is simple: if the producer does not have a recognised name in the natural wine world and lacks a verifiable producer history, choose one of the wines above instead.

Finding more natural wines

Systembolaget lists wines under the "Natural wine" filter but also includes wines that do not meet stricter criteria. The best way to find good wines: start from the producer, not the filter.
