Natural Wine from Languedoc

Languedoc-Roussillon is France's largest wine region and at the same time the most dynamic for natural wine. Here you'll find everything from limestone slopes in Minervois and Saint-Chinian to schist in Faugères and altitude in Haute Vallée de l'Orb — terroir that gives distinctive, drinkable wines without heavy oak ageing.

The natural wine movement in Languedoc grew when young producers took over old vineyards and began farming organically or biodynamically with wild fermentation and minimal intervention in the cellar. The result is an ecosystem of small, independent producers making everything from light Cinsault wines to concentrated Carignan and experimental orange wines.
