Red & white wine — sometimes called a field blend or co-fermentation — is wine where red and white grapes are harvested and fermented together. It is an old Mediterranean tradition that gives bottles with colour and structure somewhere between rosé and light red: more body than a white, more fruit and freshness than many heavy reds.
In Languedoc, Grenache, Carignan or Cinsault are often blended with white grapes like Grenache Blanc or Macabeu. The result can range from almost rosé-coloured wines to deeper garnet — always with the sun-ripened southern French fruit and lively acidity that define the region. Many producers on PACT also farm organically or biodynamically, and several make wine without additives.
Here you'll find bottles for anyone who wants something different at the table without going fully orange or heavy red — perfect for everyday food and gatherings where one wine needs to suit several dishes.
One of the most flexible wines for dinner. Suits grilled food, pizza, chicken, baked fish and Mediterranean salads. Works with lighter charcuterie too. Serve lightly chilled, around 12–14°C, for maximum freshness.
