Wines from Mas d'Agalis
Mas d'Agalis winesYo No Puedo Mas 2024
Yo No Puedo Mas is Mas d'Agalis' most talked-about wine — 100% Syrah from the galets roulés terraces of Nébian, named out of frustration. The cuvée was denied appellation status, hence the Catalan name "I can't take it anymore." Lionel's infusion style delivers a Syrah with northern Rhône elegance rather than southern French heaviness.

Le Grand Carré 2024
Le Grand Carré is Mas d'Agalis' white signature wine — Chenin Blanc, Terret Blanc and Vermentino from Lionel Maurel's organic vineyards on the galets roulés terraces of Nébian. Aged 12+ months in older oak barrels. Complex and gourmand — unexpectedly elegant white from a warm Mediterranean climate.

Au Mas 2024
Au Mas is the everyday wine from Mas d'Agalis — a fresh, easy-drinking red made from four classic Languedoc varieties grown on Lionel Maurel's certified organic vineyards in Nébian, Hérault. The vines grow on ancient Villafranchian terraces covered with galets roulés, rounded quartzite stones that absorb the Mediterranean sun and allow the grapes to ripen naturally with minimal intervention in the cellar.

About Mas d'Agalis
Lionel Maurel is a fourth-generation vigneron in Nébian, a small village 40 km north-west of Montpellier. Mas d'Agalis — 'askew' in Occitan, diagonally — is a reference to how the estate is planted in the landscape. Eight hectares on galets roulés (rounded stones from the Villafranchian era) at 100 metres altitude. Warm Mediterranean climate with Grenache Noir, Carignan, Syrah and Mourvèdre for red, and Vermentino, Clairette, Chenin and Terret Bourret for white. Lionel works without synthetic products — organic fertilisers, ploughing and minimal copper and sulphur. Elevage 12–18 months in barrels and tanks. The wines are gourmand and fruit-driven, with Mediterranean character but without heaviness.
